Stress Awareness Month: Simple Rituals to Feel Calm and Balanced

April is Stress Awareness Month, a reminder of how important it is to notice the ways stress shows up in our everyday lives.

As a founder, I know how easy it is to move from one task to the next without pausing. Over time, those small pressures can build up and begin to affect both the mind and body. For me, stress often appears in subtle ways such as tension in my shoulders and jaw, difficulty switching off in the evening, or that feeling of mental overload when there is simply too much going on.

These small signals my body is telling me to slow down!

Movement as a Way to Relieve Stress Naturally

Movement plays a big part in how I manage stress and support my overall wellbeing.

I practise both vinyasa and yin yoga throughout the week. I also sneak in a weekly sound bath when I can. The flowing movement of vinyasa helps release built-up tension and brings me back into my body, while yin and sound bath offers a slower, more meditative practice that encourages deep relaxation.

I also enjoy running weekly with friends, which is another way I like to clear my mind, reset and release stress. It’s as much about connection and fresh air as it is about movement.

Creating Small Moments of Calm Throughout the Day

Alongside movement, I rely on small grounding rituals that help me pause and reset.

I've said it many times, one of my favourite ways to unwind is to lie down with an aromatherapy eye pillow for a few minutes. The gentle weight helps release tension around the eyes and forehead, especially after long periods spent on screens, while encouraging the body to slow down and relax.

When stress builds physically, I also find warmth incredibly comforting. Using a heated wheat bag across the shoulders, chest or on the body where I carry tension. It helps ease muscle tension and creates a grounding sense of calm.

Using Scent to Calm the Mind and Body

Scent is one of the most powerful ways to shift how we feel.

The Relax Atmosphere Mist, blended with lavender, chamomile, ravensara and bergamot, was created to help calm both the mind and body. A few spritzes around the room or onto my linens can transforms the environment, creating a more peaceful space and supporting a gentle wind-down in the evening.

For a deeper evening routine, you can also explore our sleep better rituals designed to help you unwind and prepare for rest.

Simple Daily Rituals to Reduce Stress and Support Wellbeing

Over time, I’ve realised that managing stress often comes down to the small moments we create throughout the day.

Taking time to move, breathe and pause even briefly can make a meaningful difference. These small rituals help support relaxation, improve sleep and bring a greater sense of balance to everyday life.

Stress Awareness Month is a reminder that caring for your wellbeing doesn’t need to be complicated. Sometimes, the simplest rituals are the most effective.
