Your body hears everything your mind says. - Naomi Judd

Your body hears everything your mind says. - Naomi Judd

Ever feel tension in the shoulders and jaw in stressful situations? Or a nagging stress headache?

This is the body reacting physically to what the mind is saying. Practice letting go of tension in the body through doing a full body scan. Reminding yourself to physically soften muscles will help to combat tension created from the mind.

Body Scan

Either seated in a chair or laying down. Close the eyes. Start with the toes, feet, legs and work your way up to the crown of the head.  To help keep your mind present as you do a body scan focus on the breath and also each body part you are relaxing.

Once you have completed the entire body make note of where you felt you were carrying the most tension. Did one side of the body feel more tense then the other? Observing without judgement.
