Stopping Ocean Plastic Directly at the Source

Through our partnership with Greenspark, we have committed to collecting ten plastic bottles with every online purchase on Spritz Wellness. The plastic bottles are collected through an organisation set up to reduce plastic pollution called The Plastic Bank. Here's what The Plastic Bank stands for, and how it's working to stop plastic entering our oceans while creating jobs for people living in poverty.

While plastic has improved and simplified our lives, we've also become used to it as a convenience. It's easy to buy, cheap to use, and convenient to throw away. As we continue to create more plastic waste, some estimates suggest there could be more plastic in the ocean than fish by 2050.

You Can Stop Plastic Waste Before It Reaches Our Oceans

By partnering with Plastic Bank, we're helping to establish ethical plastic collection branches within 50 kilometres of oceans and waterways. Collectors gather plastic waste directly from local beaches, riverbanks, neighbourhoods and even households, so that plastic can be stopped directly at the source.

Turning Plastic Waste into Worth

Together, this work reveals value in plastic waste while improving lives. Collectors exchange plastic waste at local Plastic Bank branches for bonuses that help provide basic family necessities, such as groceries, cooking fuel, school tuition, health insurance, digital connectivity and clean drinking water. By offering safe, secure and traceable sources of income, this work helps empower vulnerable communities with a genuine path out of poverty.

Through Plastic Bank, companies and individuals around the world are stewarding the collection of ocean-bound plastic waste and helping communities thrive. The recycled plastic is reborn as Social Plastic feedstock, used in the production of new products and packaging, giving old plastic a new life.
