Surfing for Change on World Oceans Day

Surfing for Change on World Oceans Day

Posted by Laura Colucci on

Since its inception, Spritz Wellness founder Laura Colucci has been passionate about tackling pollution in the world's oceans. She proudly supports Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) annually, an organisation that started as a campaign to combat sewage pollution in coastal waters but has since evolved into a leading environmental charity dedicated to protecting oceans, waves, beaches, and marine life.

June 8th marks World Oceans Day, a global celebration of our planet's ocean and a reminder of the critical role it plays in sustaining life on Earth. It's also a day to raise awareness about the challenges facing our oceans, including pollution, climate change, and habitat destruction. Surfers Against Sewage is an organization at the forefront of this movement, working tirelessly to protect our oceans and coastlines. As we approach World Oceans Day, let's explore the mission of SAS and how surfers are making a difference in the fight for cleaner, healthier oceans.

Ways to Get Involved on World Oceans Days:

- Join a beach clean-up or organize one in your community.
- Reduce your use of single-use plastics and opt for reusable alternatives.
- Support organizations like Surfers Against Sewage that are working to protect marine environments.
- Educate yourself and others about ocean conservation issues and the importance of sustainable practices.

Surfers Against Sewage and World Oceans Day remind us that we all have a role to play in protecting our oceans. Whether you're a surfer, a beachgoer, or simply someone who cares about the health of our planet, there are countless ways to get involved and make a difference. By supporting organizations like SAS and participating in World Oceans Day activities, we can work together to ensure a brighter, cleaner future for our oceans and all who depend on them. So, let's paddle out, ride the wave of change, and celebrate the beauty and bounty of our oceans on June 8th and every day beyond.
